LOS ANGELES - Richard Dunn, a longtime actor who has often collaborated with the character comic Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, died Friday after being unconscious for several days. He was 73.
His agent of 15 years, William Kerwin, said Dunn had been unconscious in a hospital in Hollywood since Sunday. Kerwin did not immediately know the cause of death.
The tall, bespectacled actor, listed at 5-feet-10 and 125 pounds on his resume, has often appeared on "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!" Adult Swim on Cartoon Network programming. Dunn has also had small roles on shows including "Nip / Tuck," "Weeds" and "House".
Heidecker wrote on Twitter Friday: "Deeply saddened to announce that our friend Richard Dunn died this morning ...."
Wareheim tweeted: "We'll miss Dicky Dunn. You will be in our hearts forever." He later wrote: "We are a place of memory where you can send them messages. More news soon. XO.
Kerwin said arrangements were being made to bury Dunn at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which seemed fitting given the behavior of the old school.
"It was a great Gary Cooper type of man - his sense of humor. Maybe that's why he was smoking - maybe like someone in a film by Gary Cooper," has Kerwin said. "It was very nice, a very sensitive man, a natural actor, not your typical young artist."
Kerwin said Dunn appeal was "a kind of sad look he had, and an attitude yep-nope."
"It was one of those actors who have worked most of the time, but he never made up," said Kerwin. "He was always there, but never the big cigar."
